OT: PS/2 connector question |

Pardon the OT, but what type of connection is a PS/2 mouse port? Is it RS232 with a different connector, or is it a clocked serial like a PC keyboard? What are the voltage levels? Does anybody have a link to a pinout?
I want to use a PS/2 mouse as a 2D mechanical distance input for a PIC project. _________________ The search for better is endless. Instead simply find very good and get the job done. |

It is clocked like the keyboard port.
Have a look at TB055 on the MicroChip site. This is an application note to connect a PS/2 mouse via USB, and gives the plug pinout, the timings, data packet used, and even has code to handle talking to the mouse.
