IDE utils not installed ?!?!?!
PostPosted: Sun Feb 11, 2007 3:21 am     Reply with quote

Hi friends !

I got now a new problem with installing 4.022,4.023, 4.024

I am installing this versions in separate directories to have always a step back possibility.

Now I installed 4.024 in c:\PCW4024 and also installed the IDEutils in the ame directory, but at the start it says IDE installation incomplete !!!!
Must download IDEutils and install.

Do I miss something at installing it ?

Is it not possible to set c:\PCW4024 as directory for the IDU utis ?

I hope someone out there can help me out.

best regards
Andreas

I keep my version 3 in c:\ccs\ver3\picc and version 4 in c:\ccs\ver4\picc. At least that works OK for me.

Some thoughts: Maybe it needs to at least have the PICC directory? Maybe the two copies of version 4 are getting the variables confused?

I keep copies of downloaded versions saved as backups and, since it only takes a few minutes, I just reinstall if I need to change minor versions within a major version. I have never tried to run two minor versions side by side. Maybe someone else here has.....

Hello,

I found the solution now !!!

When installing the IDE utils You can select the directory where to install it, BUT it will insert another directorie named "PICC" and this will not work !!

You just have to copy the content of that directory to the same as where the compiler is installed !

Second missbehaviour: If You do this, the compiler/IDE will aks againfor the reg files ! You have to select again the correct reg files !

best regards and thanks for Your thoughts

Andreas
