Where to get more information on FAT16 format ??

Hi,

I am trying to understand how a FAt16 drive system works, I have seen the drivers for the MMC card in the library section, but I am unable to understand how the system works, for example what to do before reading a file.. or writing to a file....

Are there any links available in the internet ????

Thanks for the reply.. I have googled , and have found some information but some questions still remain un-answered.

I was hoping there would be some resources on the net (like the RFCs for TCP protocols etc.)
