GPRS modem

hi
I am working on a system where I need to use a GPRS modem to transmit data at internet.
My modem is the one viewable at this link:
http://www.teltonika.lt/en/pages/view/?id=908
Now I have two options, either use PIC16F877A (require serial to USB converter) or PIC18F4550 (due to USB interface).
Can anyone technically help me out whether its possible to interface this modem and control by AT commands?
