E3 board Bootloader

I purchased the E3 board and flashed the bootloader into it, then I plug e3 into an USB port... Windows looks for a driver but cannot find one.

I guess my questions is what does "Connect the E3 board to the PC using a USB cable. If Windows indicates a new device has been found, click the default options on all the device wizard windows." mean?

I am using Win7, and there are no default options in the wizard windows. Device manager shows CCS E3Mini but is does not have a driver. When I click on Build and Run from the CCS C Complier, it complains that there is no device connected.

Any ideas?

I don't use 7, haven't got an E3 but...

...Windows can't access the E3 as it doesn't have a 'driver' for it. That's a small program that allows the PC to communicate with the E3. Somewhere in your documentation for the E3 there should be instructions on 'installation'. Since this is a CCS product, maybe check their main website for help?
There was a thread earlier about the E3 on this forum...maybe use the 'search' option in upper right of screen and search for 'E3'.

Until you get the Windows 'driver' insatlled.. you can't use the E3 device.

Yep, thanks, that solved it...

Go here, http://www.ccsinfo.com/faq.php?page=icdu_drivers#install

to get the driver, and install it manually to get windows to recognize it. I had to disable antivirus for 15 minutes to get the driver to install.
