Dear all,

with reference to pic16f913, it states that it has internal clock. That means that external crystal is not needed or when using internal clock i am compromising something?

More than this when i select pic16f913 on ccs wizard, the Lvd tab remains disabled. Why? This pic has programmable lvd feature

You have to read the datasheet for that PIC but generally the internal clock will NOT be as precise or stable as a real crystal and 2 caps. This feature is extremely important if you're doing serial communications or ANY timing operations especially over anything but 'room' temperature.

The 'wizard' is just one man's way of setting up PICs. I never use it, just think of it as an ISIS cousin.....full of errors, bad DRCs, etc.
