PIC24FJ1024GB610 error restart cause 16

I am programming the PIC24FJ1024GB610 from Microchip using the CCS compiler version 5.103.

I have a problem with the microchip. During I2C communication between two PIC24FJ1024GB610 MCU’s I get an error restart cause 16 on the slave.

Looking at the device.h file, I cannot find this error restart cause. The function ‘restart_cause() ‘ is only called once in the start-up of the code.

Does anyone know the meaning of this error, or where I can search for a solution. Adding the code is not useful cause it is one source file from a 1000 lines with more than 20 header files.
