JDM programmer problem
PostPosted: Sat Nov 22, 2008 10:15 pm     Reply with quote

Hi,

I have used a JDM Programmer to program 16F877 PICs. Can the same programmer be used to program 18F4550 PICs ? I encountered a malfunction when detecting the 18F PIC. Don't know whether a problem with the programmer or the PIC.

Any help highly appreciated.
Thanks.

The JDM website says it is primarily compatible with a very limited set of chips
using the socket. They say it may work with a wider range ONLY if you are
usng ICSP. They DO NOT mention using 18F devices at all.

Here is the JDM website:

WinPIC says their software works with the 18F4xx0 series using the JDM
programmer. I recommend trying their software if you are not already using it:

They have a lot of caveats though and you should read this page:

If it doesn't work the best bet is to ask them for help

I really would help for you to use Google to assist in finding answers.
Finding the above took less than 3 minutes (it took longer than that to
type the above).
