create sounds with pic
PostPosted: Sun Nov 01, 2009 8:50 am     Reply with quote

hi ,

I want to create a music box with pic16f690.
I started to produce songs with the pwm pin and changing the frequency.

The song is playing well, but the sounds that the speaker produce are so monotonics... (300-550hz), sound like old days.

Can I do some dsp to create a more full, capacity sounds?

A low pass will help? or some software manipulations ?

Thanks.

Did you check the code library? One of the 'regulars' (Ttelmah?) posted a music generation project a while back....

There is a sound synthesizer with source code (for the PIC 18F series) here:

You might get some ideas from the various sound producing algorithms. The multiply instruction available on the 18F series gives a good advantage compared to the 16F series.
