USB enumeration with PIC18F66J50
PostPosted: Thu Nov 27, 2014 12:45 pm     Reply with quote

I have just gotten my PIC18F66J50 to successfully show up as a USB Input Device on my Windows 7 machine. I was expecting it to also show up as an HID device which is what I selected when using the PIC Wizard. I also entered a manufacturer string but it does not show up in the properties field.
I am using PCH 5.018. Any ideas? Thanks.

The manufacturer string does not come from the device!....

Basically it used to. But now what you see is what is reported by the INF file used. Will depend on the VID/PID.

An input device, would normally either be CDC, or HID. Sounds as if the device is being seen fine.
