They are competing with adobe. 10% use time and 90% updating/downloading.

to it's sounds like ccs is trying stay on top of things. I would rather have many updates, than have to wait for a update that is causing problems for me, holding me up. |

i agree - just being facetious. I am impressed and sure somebody found a real BONER in 5.038 and THAT is why there is a fast update.
I too am glad it was done that way - as i would do the same given what i suspect happened.
5.038 if it exists in the wild , surely needs a skull and crossbones for an icon |

Surely, you mean V6.00 on April 1st.....
A large part is adding a lot of new chips, and then there seem to have been quite a few new problems appearing in the later 5.03x versions, so they have had quite a few quick release versions as these have been found. |

According to the change list it appears they forgot to check for the clear_interrupt problem in PIC24 in version 5.038
Quote: |
5.039 A problem with clear_interrupts() on some PIC24 interrupts is fixed
5.038 A problem with clear_interrupts() on some PIC16-18 interrupts is fixed

Happens to everybody - last week my antivirus (F-Prot) got it's new defs and promptly deleted my dictionary for FireFox. They had a new set of defs out a few hours later which fixed it, but took be a bit to figure out how to restore the "infected" dictionary. Better safe than sorry though !!

It looks like the prediction of 5.044 might come true. Already on 5.040.

So these versions should be nuked from space!
CCS should flag critically broken version on their website/forum!
At least saying when starting the IDE that it's a broken version! _________________ Regards,

Bugs like this exist in every version of EVERY compiler from every supplier.
It doesnt mean the compiler is critically broken.
A work around for this bug is very easy.
The bigger issue is just knowing the bug is there.
This compiler is so flexible, in many cases, if you know about the problem
crafting a workaround can be quickly accomplished. _________________ Google and Forum Search are some of your best tools!!!! |
