No.

I've posted this before here. A company I worked for, at one point a little while ago, did a 'cost benefit' analysis on the software and hardware being used. Isis, was the _only_ product that received an overall -ve result. Projects using it, took longer to complete, than equivalent projects done using breadboard circuits or directly to PCB.

It wastes your time. I have fully working circuits, that Isis says 'will not work', and also circuits that Isis says will work, that on a real chip would destroy the hardware.

You end up designing the circuit once in Isis, and then having to do it again when you go to real hardware. Result is, that the time spent on the initial 'Isis' design, was wasted....

The problem I have with ISIS is that it allows you to simulate a project that if built according to the 'schematic' will never, ever work in the Real World! I'm not taking about the code rather the actual PIC and parts.
One classic example is that allows you to design/program a 16F84 without a crystal/2 caps connected ! Just as bad is that you don't 'need' VDD connected either !!! ARRGH. Draw a schematic like that for my company's entry test and you will NOT get hired. As for 'simulators', in 4 decades I've yet to find one that accurately 'simulates' the Real World.
I understand that PICs and parts aren't readily available Worldwide but they are inexpensive. My first PC was over $12,000, today for less than $20 you can get enough PICs and parts to breadboard your projects.
Life is way too short (gets shorter the older you get, I'm finding out, sigh...) too waste on faulty products like ISIS. Build and test in the Real World, you'll get educated a LOT faster and remember more by doing.
